City in the Morning

Beautiful Image of a City in the Early hours of the Day

Happy Wednesday to everyone! Today I bring you a picture taken during the early hours of the day. What feelings does this picture awaken?

This picture is a reminder to everyone that after darkness the light will come and fill up the sky. Right now there is a lot of uncertainty, darkness surrounding us from everywhere we look. Eventually light will come to us, just like the sun is slowly coming to fill the city with it’s light and warm.

Keep moving forward and never give up.

Moods

Mood is like a swing
It swings back and forth
It is like a see saw
It goes up and down
He who loses control of its fury, fails
He who controls its anger conquered the greatest foe within

We can choose to be sad or happy
We can choose to be kind or generous
We can choose to practice patience
We can choose to be pessimistic or optimistic
God gives us the free will to do things, but we are given guidelines to follow
It is up to us to decide which to follow

We may encounter hardships but going through it
Has its own prize only we keep doing what is right.
Never stop doing what is good but it starts in our mind
When we think of good consequently good deeds come into place.

One Day at a Time

There are so many questions that come to our minds during these times. How long? When? Why? As we ponder these questions, it’s good to remember that we always move forward one day at a time.

Believe that the day will come when this is behind us, a day when we will tell stories to our children and grandchildren of how we manage all this by concentrating one day at a time.

These are stressful times, issues at work and out of work. Not being able to see many of our love ones, not being able to do what we always do. Do not stress too much about a month from now, instead take things one day at a time and move forward never looking back or giving up.

Always stay positive on the face of adversity. We will persevere and rebuild what needs to be rebuilt. Do not let fear control you, help each other and look for the good things that are around you.

Never give up and move forward one day at a time.

Reflection April 2020

As we face this pandemic COVID 19, the journey is much challenging. We are put in a high stress moment. But we are resilient. The question is how we respond to these changes in our daily lifestyle? It is changed significantly of our routine. Many of us lost our jobs or maybe working partially or furlough. But we are all together of this medical war. What can we do to cope this situation? I believe this is the time to reflect that all these changes will pass. While on the process how can we continue living in such a manner that we come out victorious and triumphant.
Reflecting and appreciating what we have would probably help. We are given the time to spend more time with our children at home. Enjoying the moment of our family.
Checking within if, we have been giving thankfulness or gratitude to do the people that are working tirelessly in the front line of healthcare such as nurses, doctors, EMS, respiratory therapists, people that work in the labs, scientists who work round the clock to find medicine or vaccine, and our government who are giving means to help in giving support to get through this fight.
Have we given appreciation to the people that pick up our trash or recycle papers? The policemen or women that keep our place in order. The environmental people that keep the hospital and community clean.
Have we given appreciation to the pastors, or priests and deacons who give us spiritual support any way they can? How do we treat our neighbor while we are waiting in line to get to grocery stores? Should we act out of anger or should we show kindness and patience? Sometimes we are overpowered by our own problems that we forget to show love to our neighbors. Maybe this is the time to count the many blessings we have so that we too can be a blessing to others.
This is the time that our words should be of encouraging, NOT of discouraging. We should be of reaching out and helping others. Being more optimistic attitude or behavior in our daily routines would help get us through this situation.
Above all we should NOT forget to ask God’s help in intervening this dilemma. He is so powerful that He can reverse this pandemic effect. His mercy, graces and blessings are upon us.

A Friend

She was thirteen years old and freshman. The school just began for the school year. She entered the school classroom finding seats, looking at the classmates they were seated on their respective chairs with right side wide tablet arm desk. Everybody was wearing their uniforms.  The skirts were covering the knees. She found a seat available at the back. She slowly walked toward the seat and sat down. Everyone was introducing each other and knowing each other. When she found a seat, she sat down and put her school stuffs on her desk.

Behind her seat was another student who introduced herself: Hi I am Anne. What was your name? I am Kikay. The two got to know each other well on the first day of school. They went to lunch together.

Anne and Kikay had some common things they liked. Both liked to sing so they joined the choir. The choir they joined was assigned to sing every 10:00 A.M. mass. Sometimes they were invited to sing as performers on town festivities.

When Anne and Kikay had misunderstanding they wrote on a small piece of paper apologizing each other of the mistakes or wrong that was done. Because of their humility the friendship continued. During lunch time they ate together and sometimes shared their foods.

One day Kikay’s father was sick and was in and out of the hospital. Kikay shared to Anne of the conditioned of her dad. How she was so sad to see her dad being in the hospital. Anne was very supportive of Kikay and tried to be there and comfort her. One day Kikay’s father passed away. Anne stood there to console Kikay of her loss. Then one day Anne lost her father due to a car accident. It was Kikay’s turn to give consolation to Anne. Their friendship was tested with different events in their lives, but they had true friendship.

When they graduated from high school, they had not seen each other after high school. They went in a different university. Anne went with her mother moved to a different place and started a new life because of her dad’s passing away. Her mom had to venture something else to support the family.

Many years had gone by, so they had not seen each other. Then one day Anne came to Kikay’s house looking for her. But during her visit, Kikay was out of town. It was Kikay’s brother that told Anne that Kikay went out of town and that she will be back in 2 weeks. When Kikay came back home, her brother told her that her friend Anne came by and was looking for her. Two weeks had gone by, Anne did not come back to see Kikay. Kikay had left the country for a job and tried to fulfill the dream career.

It was years that had gone by, before they finally see each other. That was when Kikay came back to the country to visit her family. By the time they met again, both had different careers. They shared their experiences   and keeping in touch from time to time ever since. They were very thankful of the good friendship they shared.

Don’t Stress, This will Pass

Don’t stress, this will pass. During this hard times we need to remember this. There is so much going on right now, the world is changing every moment, new information about this situation keeps coming and it gets harder to stay calm.

How can we accomplish this when our daily life has changed? Some are stuck at home, some still going to work and some somewhere in between. The situation changes so fast that it’s hard to keep up. What can we do?

It is important to find moments to relax, to have something that can take your mind of this situation. Maybe for you it’s playing games, or maybe it’s gardening. How about watching TV? Anything that can help you relax is good.

How about excersising in front of your TV? Singing? The sky is the limit. Maybe this is a good time to call your family and friends that you haven’t talked in a while. Maybe even a video call!

It is important to never give up. Remember that these times won’t last forever. Keep moving forward and better times will come. Don’t stress, this will pass.

Thought of the day: Be Obedient

At this time of crisis wherein corona virus is spread globally. We are called to be obedient for our safety. If our government is advising us to stay away from social gatherings or stay home, then it is imperative to follow and obey. We are accountable of our health; therefore, we take responsibility on it. Our attitude should NOT be of obstinate but be of compliance. It is us, people that will benefit of it anyway. Obedience of good nature will have good outcomes.

Each one of us has a vital role in stopping the spread. Washing hands, avoiding touching our face, nose or mouth and stay distance of 6 feet are of the things we can observe. But above all stay connected to the God who created us. He is in control. Prayers are so powerful. We need the divine intervention. But we also must do our parts by doing what are required to do. Stay SAFE.
Keep in mind to be obedient as no one is exempted of this corona virus infection.

Always Have Hope, Never Give Up

Never give up and always have hope. There are many hardships and uncertainty around this time, fear in our hearts and feelings of powerlessness. We wonder what to do, we wonder what did we do? How did we get here?

This is the time to unite, to show the true strength of our heart. Even if all around feels like it’s falling apart never lose hope, never give up. Stay strong and do good, stay true to your self and don’t let anything bring you down.

By standing united we will be able to overcome this. We are stronger than this. Never lose hope, never give up. Remember that there will always be light after darkness. We will persevere!

How to Survive Monday in Daylight Saving Time

Happy Monday! A new day with the difference that we are waking up earlier than usual. Do we really need daylight saving time? A question that we all have every year.

How do we survive today? Personally I think the key is coffee! Go grab a cup of it and when you finish it drink a second one. Of you don’t drink coffee then may I suggest some tea?

Now, if you get the chance go ahead and take a nap. That would give you a boost to finish today. Find ways to recover energies or to wake up. Me? I’m on my way to my 2nd cup of coffee with more to come.

What Would be your Superpower?

Happy Friday! The weekend is almost here and that brings a smile to our faces! As we wait for tomorrow to come a though cross my mind: what would it be to have a superpower and which one to have?

Why think about this? Because it’s fun to use your imagination. You are never too old to dream and have fun!

What superpower for me? That would be instant teleportation! Why? Just think about it. You can get to work in a moment, no more long commuting or traffic! You can also get home so fast to do the activities that you want. Want to travel? Just teleport there! The possibilities are endless!

How about you? Which would be your superpower? Feel free to leave a comment about it! Continue the rest of the day with a smile on your face and full of happiness!
